Kerala government is to look into the demands of IAS officers pertaining to more post-retirement benefits.
An assurance has come from the Kerala government which shows the demands of the retired IAS officers would be considered for additional benefits apart from pension. The demands are apparently similar to those enjoyed by retired High Court judges of Kerala.
Currently retiring judges along with Chief Justices in the southern state are eligible respectively for Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000 per month as additional benefits.
Keeping this in view, the Kerala IAS Association demands that they should also be eligible for the same benefits.
Replying to an RTI, the state government has revealed that the demands of the IAS officers would be examined. The government also acknowledges that the data regarding the number of retired IAS officers eligible for the benefits, is not available.
