I-T Deputy Commissioner in Sirsa Nitin Garg arrested while accepting bribe

The CBI has arrested a Haryana I-T Deputy Commissioner in Sirsa Nitin Garg and his aide for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 2 Lakh from a private firm proprietor for giving relief while levying penalty.The Complainant(a Proprietor of private firm based at Sirsa) has alleged that the Dy.Commissioner, Income Tax, Sirsa had issued notice in his name seeking certain information under Income Tax Act for the assessment year 2013-14 and demanded bribe of Rs.2 lakh for not imposing heavy penalties.
It was further alleged that the complainant was threatened that in case the bribe was not paid, heavy penalties will be imposed on him. The Dy. Commissioner instructed his worker to accept the money.CBI laid a trap in which the Dy.Commissioner, Income Tax and the private person of Bhatinda(Punjab) were caught while accepting bribe of Rs. Two lakh.
