Home Ministry orders CBI probe into the death of IPS trainee

The Home Ministry has ordered a CBI probe into the death of a 31-year-old trainee IPS officer at the National Police Academy in Hyderabad last year.Manu who hailed from Haryana and was allotted the Himachal Pradesh cadre, was reported to have died when some trainees, who had qualified for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), organised a get-together in the officers’ club for their batch-mates in the Indian Police Service (IPS) The trainee officer, Manu Mukt Manav, died after drowning in the swimming pool of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) on August 28.
