The 1981 batch IAS officer of Gujarat, Hasmukh Adhia has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance. Hasmukh Adhia will take charge from Gudial Singh Sandhu, IAS (RJ:80, as he has been appointed as Chairman of National Authority ofor the Chemical Weapons Convention.
Hasmukh Adhia till now he was working as Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Government of Gujarat.The Gujarat cadre officer has a doctorate in yoga from Swami Vivekanand Yoga University, Bangalore and was the brain behind the karamyogi programme to rejuvenate the bureaucracy in Gujarat.
