The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) gets ‘Maharatna’ status; becomes 14th such PSU.
The HAL has now been given Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) status. On October 12, 2024, the Department of Public Enterprises has announced the upgradation through a post on X (formerly Twitter).
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has granted the approval on this following the proposal for HAL’s upgradation as recommended by two high-level committees: the Apex Committee, chaired by the Cabinet Secretary. and the Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC), headed by the Finance Secretary.
