Teammate Foundation and Divya Prem Sewa Mission felicitated Rt Hon’ble Sir Anerood Jugnauth , GCSK, KCMG,QC , Minister Mentor , Minister of Defence and Minister of Rodrigues who has served Prime Minister of Mauritius for 6 times and President for 2 times for being a symbol of Mauritius Rapid Progress in the Global Erna.
The felicitation event was a grand ceremony held at Hotel Ashok Chanakyapuri , New Delhi on 15th March 2017. The event was graced by Union Ministers Govt of India Sh. Ravi Shankar Prasad, Gen V. K. Singh, Sh. Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, Sh. Giriraj Singh, Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey. The event also saw participation of large number of Hon’ble Members of Parliament both Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, Senior Politicians, Bureaucrats, Senior Police officers, Prominent Media Personalities, Mahamandaleshwar Swami Vishwanand Maharaj and other dignitaries.
On the Occasion Sh. Upendrra Rai honoured and felicitated Hon’ble Sir Anerood Jugnauth for devoting his life to the service of the people of Mauritius. In his speech Sh. Upendrra Rai said that India and Mauritius enjoy a unique and special relationship based on civilization ties of kinship and shared cultural affinities. He lauded Sir Anerood Jugnauth, who devoted his entire life for serving the people of Mauritius and creating New Modern Mauritius on the Globe.
In his speech Sh. Upendrra Rai mentioned the unique achievements. In the leadership of Sir Anerood Jugnauth the people of Mauritius got 100 percent pure drinking water which was just 5 % when he took over as Prime Minister in 1982. He provided Free Health services, free education to the people of Mauritius and one of the Unique part is that the people of Mauritius are provided free Public Transport i.e they don’t have to pay to use public transport. Though Sir Anerood Jugnauth had handed the reign to his elder son Sh Praveen Jugunath but he is still active and serving the people of Mauritius. Hence we felt proud and honour to felicitate Hon’ble Sir Anerood Jugnauth.
Besides this All the Union Ministers and prominent personalities also lauded the service of Hon’ble Sir Anerood Jugnauth for the dedicated service and efforts of creating Modern Mauritius and Symbolizing our common struggle for independence and the cherished values of democracy. In their speech they also said that both India, Mauritius are collaborating closely to ensure peace, stability and progress in the Indian Ocean region. India is happy to be associated with several new developmental projects of the Government of Mauritius and confident that our bilateral relationship will grow from strength to strength in the coming years.
Hon’ble Sir Anerood Jugnauth in his speech expressed his gratitude and thanked distinguished guests of giving him the honour and facilitation. On the occasion famous Comedian Raju Srivastava entertained the Guests by his comedy and Renowned Urdu Poet Sh Munawwar Rana receipted his famous poetry Muhajir Nama which received great applauses and appreciation.
