New Delhi: On the completion of four years in office by the NDA government, BJP president Amit Shah on Saturday showered praise on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his hard-working and popularity.
Addressing a press conference at party headquarters in the national capital, Amit Shah said the Modi government has taken several social and economic steps that have helped millions of people in the country lead a better life.
Reserving a special praise for PM Modi, he said the achievements of the government are a result of his dedication. “The BJP provided the most hardworking Prime Minister and the most popular leader in the world to the country, a PM who works for 15-18 hours a day. We are proud this Prime Minister is a leader of the BJP,” he said.
Amit Shah also lashed out at the opposition. “Their agenda is to remove Modi and the BJP. BJP’s agenda is removing corruption and poverty from India,” the BJP president said.
He elaborated on measures in the economic and social spheres, party leaders, workers and supporters across the country have been celebrating the occasion with much fervor. The saffron party has plans to reach out to one lakh famous personalities from all spheres of life to highlight the government’s achievements.
On the other hand, talking about the performance of the NDA government, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said that Prime Minister has given a “scam free” government.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given scam-free government; fifth year will focus on consolidation of policies, programmes,” Jaitley was quoted as saying by a news agency.
On the possibility of a rainbow Opposition against the BJP in the 2019 parliamentary elections, he said if dissimilar political parties were to come together, the focus of debate will be on Modi against anarchist combination.
“With desparate political parties promising to come together, political debate will focus on Modi versus anarchist combination,” Jaitley was quoted as saying.
