Five new responsibilities at the Centre to top bureaucrats

The Government has announced key administrative appointments lately out of which the five mentioned here appear more significant.

The Central Government has issued the following appointment notifications:

  1. Nand Kumarum (IAS:2008:MP)

    • Current: President & CEO, National e-Governance Division (NeGD)

    • Additional Charge: CEO, MyGov + MD/CEO, Digital India Corporation

    • Duration: 6 months (w.e.f. January 9, 2025)

  2. Bhuwan Chandra Pathak

    • Current: CMD, Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL)

    • Extended Additional Charge: Director (Finance) (JS Level), NPCIL

    • Extension Period: 6 months (w.e.f. February 17, 2025)

  3. Sanjay Pandey (ICAS:1994)

    • Upgraded Role: Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer (same scale)

    • Organization: Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation, Labour Ministry

  4. Ashish Goyal (IIS:1996)

    • New Role: Director General (Media) (JS Level), Election Commission

    • Tenure: 5 years (up to April 30, 2028)

    • Previous Post: Additional DG, National Museum, Culture Ministry

  5. Anuj Chandak (IIS:2012)

    • Lateral Move: From Joint Director (ECI) to Deputy Secretary

    • New Ministry: Environment, Forest & Climate Change

    • Tenure: Up to April 2, 2027

These appointments reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen administrative leadership across key departments.
