The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved in-situ up-gradation of five IAS officers, all belonging to 1984 batch, to the level of special secretary by temporarily upgrading the posts held by them. The officers who will now be special secretaries are the following:
1. Ms Reena Ray, a 1984 batch AGMUT cadre IAS, currently working as an additional secretary in the ministry of human resources development.
2. Ms Malini Shankar, a 1984 batch Maharashtra cadre lAS, currently working as director general in the ministry of shipping.
3. Alok Srivastava, a 1984 batch Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS, currently working as additional secretary in the ministry of shipping.
4. Rajiv Kumar, 1984 batch Jharkhand cadre IAS, currently working as establishment officer and additional secretary in the department of personnel and training (DoPT).
5. ABP Pandey, 1984 batch Maharashtra cadre IAS currently working as CEO in Unique Identification Authority of India.
