Federal Bureau of Investigation appears to come together with Central Bureau of Investigation. FBI Director Christopher A Wray visited CBI Headquarters in New Delhi yesterday.
Discussions were held between the two bigwigs during this significant visit. Talking to CBI Director Praveen Sood, A Wray raised many concerns impacting America as well as India.
For the technology enabled crimes, sharing of expertise in investigation is required whereas improved coordination is also needed in combating transnational crimes. Apart from these, focusing on strengthening exchange of information on criminal matters, both the top investigation agencies’ chiefs looked on the same page.
The challenges being posed by cyber enabled financial crimes along with ransomware threats, organized crime networks and transnational crimes as well as economic crimes were recognized the CBI and FBI.
Signifying deepening cooperation, Director Wray’s visit shared commitment to combat crime in all its manifestations. With the spirit of international police cooperation, the meeting also witnessed willingness to work together against terrorism.
Both the investigative agencies agreed to look forward to collaborative initiatives and future interactions.
