Lucknow, October 3, Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), Election Watch will mobilise women against use of money and muscle power in the forthcoming state assembly elections of Uttar Pradesh. To create awareness among voters and to promote ethical voting UP Election Watch organised a camp for women at Sadan Apartment, Blunt Square, Lucknow on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
In the camp the representatives of UP Election Watch along with the volunteers of social organisation HUM informed women about the electoral reforms and measures that are to be taken up during the coming assembly polls. Speaking on the occasion state associate of UP Election Watch, Rashmi Sharma appealed women not to be lured by gifts and other things for votes. She said that those luring voters with such things did not live up to expectations of voters. She stressed that women can play an important role in promoting ethical voting.
Ashfaq Siddiqui of HUM said that women can mount pressure on the political parties not to field wrong candidates. He said that in case of not finding anyone suitable to represent voters can opt for NOTA.
In the awareness camp Siddharth of Election Watch UP, Sapna Srivastava, Amit Singh HUM told women the efforts being taken up in the field of electoral reforms. President of HUM, Roli Singh informed about the mobile app my neta launched by ADR-Election Watch.
