In a departure from standard IPS tenure rules, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved one-year extensions for two senior Enforcement Directorate officials:
- Sonia Narang (IPS:2002:KN)
- Current Position: Special Director, ED
- New Tenure: Extended beyond April 6, 2025
- Career Note: Promoted from Additional Director to Special Director in December 2022
- Abhishek Goyal (IPS:2005:KN)
- Current Role: Special Director (HIU), ED
- New Tenure: Extended beyond March 18, 2025
- Additional Charge: Recently handled Northern Region during Maharashtra elections
The ACC granted these extensions by relaxing the IPS Tenure Policy, underscoring the continuity of leadership in critical ED positions.
