The Election Commission of India (ECI) has removed current DGP, Jharkhand, Anurag Gupta ahead of the state elections.
IPS Anurag Gupta has been removed from his position, the acting Director General of Police (DGP) due to allegations of “biasness” during previous state polls.
Senior IPS officer Gupta carries a “history” of complaints lodged against him during previous elections. Now with less than thirty days left before the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha polls, the EC in response to issues raised regarding his conduct during earlier electoral processes decided for his removal.
