IAS Officer Ajay Bhadoo has been assigned additional charge as DGFT for three months.
New Delhi: Senior IAS officer Ajay Bhadoo (1999 batch, Gujarat cadre) has been given additional charge of Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) for a period of three months.
Currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce since August 2024, Bhadoo brings extensive administrative experience across critical sectors, including urban infrastructure, governance, and trade.
Over his career spanning more than two decades, Bhadoo has held several high-profile roles, including Deputy Election Commissioner at the Election Commission of India, Joint Secretary to former President Ram Nath Kovind, and CEO of the Gujarat Maritime Board. He also served as Commissioner of the Rajkot and Vadodara Municipal Corporations.
An engineer by qualification, Bhadoo holds a degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s in Business Law from the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru.
The DGFT, operating under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is responsible for crafting and executing India’s foreign trade policies.
