Union Defence Minister, Manohar Parrikar has resigned from the post in order to join as the Chief Minister of Goa.
The news comes after the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) and the Goa Forward Party (GFP), which have won three seats in the polls respectively, said they would extend support to the saffron party only when Parrikar is appointed as the chief minister.
