Union Rural Development Minister, Gopinath Munde’s sudden death has brought a very harsh time to the Bhartiya Janta Party assembly polls that are few months ahead.
Munde’s demise comes at a time when the Shiv Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) — allies who tasted spectacular success in the Lok Sabha polls — are at loggerheads over the CM candidate for Maharashtra, where assembly elections are due by October.
Munde former deputy chief minister led the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to unexpected success in Maharashtra in the Lok Sabha polls. He had worked on expanding the alliance by bringing in small, yet influential leaders, as candidates. Most of them won and added to the BJP’s tally.
