The 1979 batch IPS officer of the Manipur-Tripura cadre, Divya Prakash Sinha has been appointed as Secretary, Security in the Central Cabinet. Prior to this he was serving as Special Director with the intelligence Bureau.
The post had been lying vacant since November 2013 when Yashovardhan Azad, holding the post then, was appointed information commissioner by the government.
