Collegium forwards names of 6 HCs’ Chief Justices

The Supreme Court collegium headed by Chief Justice TS Thakur has cleared the names of six High Court Chief Justices.The collegium is understood to have forwarded six names to head the High Courts where due to the retirement of respective Chief Justices, the seniormost judge was appointed as Acting Chief Justice.
The High Courts to which the appointments were made include Rajasthan, Patna, Gauhati, Meghalaya, Karnataka and Gujarat. Except for Karnataka, the collegium is learnt to have recommended names of judges from other States to head these high courts.
