The Union Public Service Commission has declared results of civil services examination.Four top position holders are women: Ira Singhal (Delhi), Dr Renu Raj (Kottayam,Kerala), Nidhi Gupta(Delhi) and Vandana Rao.Ira and Nidhi are Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Central Excise) officers.Ira topped the exam in general category despite being physically handicapped.
A total of 1,236 candidates have been recommended for appointment to IAS, IFS, IPS and central services.A total of 180 candidates have been recommended to IAS, with 32 to IFS, 150 to IPS, 710 to Central Services group ‘A’ and 292 to group ‘B’ services.
