24 IFS Officers in Chhattisgarh Under Probe for Corruption and Environmental Violations.

In a major development, 24 Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers in Chhattisgarh are under investigation following 31 complaints alleging corruption, illegal deforestation, and wildlife trafficking.

Tasked with safeguarding the state’s forest resources, the officers are now accused of enabling illegal logging, participating in wildlife hunting, and accumulating assets disproportionate to their known sources of income. The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) and the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have launched a detailed probe into their alleged misconduct.

The glaring gap between their official earnings and actual wealth has sparked serious concerns about systemic corruption within the state’s forest department. As the investigation continues, authorities aim to hold accountable those responsible for misusing their positions and contributing to the degradation of Chhattisgarh’s natural environment.
