AS Officer Chandni Singh has been appointed as Private Secretary to Union Minister for Women & Child Development.
The Government of India has appointed IAS officer Chandni Singh as the Private Secretary to Union Minister for Women & Child Development, Annpurna Devi.
Ms. Singh, a 2013-batch officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, was awaiting posting in her parent cadre before being assigned to this role. She will serve at the Deputy Secretary level on central deputation for a five-year term in the Ministry of Women & Child Development.
Her appointment, cleared by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), is part of the central government’s initiative to place experienced officers in key ministerial roles. In her new position, Ms. Singh will assist the Minister in policy implementation and administrative matters concerning women and child welfare programs.
The five-year deputation underscores the government’s focus on maintaining stability in critical social sector ministries. Ms. Singh is expected to take up her new responsibilities soon.
