The licences of 20,000 NGOs has been canceled for violating various provisions of Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA).These NGOs will not be eligible to receive foreign funds. A senior Home Ministry official said of the 33,000 such registered organisations in the country, only 13,000 NGOs are legally valid.
