The CBIC has approved Voluntary Retirement of IRS (C&IT) officer M Chenchuraman.
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has approved the voluntary retirement request of M. Chenchuraman, an officer of the Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Indirect Taxes), with effect from March 31, 2025.
Currently serving in the GST & CX Zone in Chennai, Chenchuraman will retire after a long and dedicated tenure in the department. His voluntary retirement marks the conclusion of a distinguished career in the IRS (C&IT), during which he made notable contributions to the administration of indirect taxes.
The CBIC’s approval of his request is a significant development within the department, though the reasons for his decision remain personal.
