CBI Chief Ranjit Sinha removed from 2G case: Supreme Court

On Thursday, The Supreme Court of India ordered to the CBI Chief, Twelve days before his retirement, Ranjit Sinha suffered a major blow when the Supreme Court removed him from the 2G scam case, saying the allegations against him of protecting some accused appear to be “prima facie credible”.

An apex court bench headed by Chief Justice H.L. Dattu said that the senior-most officer heading the investigation team probing the 2G case will take over the overall investigations.The SC also rejected CBI director Ranjit Sinha’s charges that DIG Santosh Rastogi was the mole who leaked information to petitioner.
