CBI arrests two Income tax officers in bribery case

The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested two income tax officials and an assistant in an alleged bribery case. The two officials, Joint Commissioner of Income tax and Income tax officer is being arrested by CBI on the complaint of the Owner of a fishery based firm at Parganas South 24 (West Bengal). He alleged that both the officers demanded 25 lakhs from the Complainant for providing relief to his firm in avoiding penalty and additional tax liability.
