Captain Fatima Wasim: The 1st woman medical officer to be on Siachen Glacier as operational officer

Captain Fatima Wasim has now become India’s first woman medical officer who will be deployed  on Siachen Glacier holding an operational post. A video post related to the news has also gone viral on social media.

As a Siachen Warrior, Captain Fatima Wasim has created history after becoming the first woman medical officer to be deployed on on the Siachen Glacier as an operational officer, says the Indian Army’s Fire and Fury Corps on X.

“Following a rigorous training at Siachen Battle School, Captain Fatima was inducted to a post at an altitude of 15,200 feet, which is the reflection of her high motivation and indomitable spirit,” in a post on X, says Fire and Fury Corps.

The IAFFC has also uploaded a video with the X post to further celebrate and highlight the feats achieved by Captain Fatima Wasim.

The largest glacier in India, Siachen Glacier is the second-largest in the world which is located close to the Indo-Pak Line of Control.
