IAS officer Kriti Chachra has been appointed as Deputy Secretary, Housing & Urban Affairs, Assam. He has also been assigned as Joint Commissioner, Guwahati Municipal Corporation.
Kriti Chachra, a 2021 batch IAS officer from the Assam-Meghalaya cadre, has been appointed Deputy Secretary in the Department of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of Assam. In addition to her new role, she has been designated as Joint Commissioner of the Guwahati Municipal Corporation.
Previously serving as Additional District Commissioner in charge of Bijni, Ms Chachra earned commendation for her effective administration and strong engagement with local communities. Her tenure in Bijni was marked by efficient handling of key responsibilities and a commitment to responsive governance.
An alumna of the University of Delhi, she holds a Master’s degree in Zoology (M.Sc.), and her academic background has provided a solid foundation for her public service career.
In her new assignments, Ms Chachra is expected to contribute significantly to urban governance in Assam, particularly in Guwahati. Her reputation for integrity, clarity, and results-driven leadership continues to mark her as a rising and impactful officer within the cadre.
