Prime Minister Narendra Modi have named Columbia University economist Arvind Panagariya as the vice-chairman of NITI Aayog.NITI Aayog has two full-time members: Economist Bibek Debroy and former secretary, Defence R&D, V.K. Saraswat.
The ex-officio members are Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh.The list of special invitees is Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot and HRD Minister Smriti Irani.
