Senior IPS Rashmi Shukla has been appointed as the new DGP of Maharashtra.
The 1998 batch Indian Police Services officer was serving as the DG, Sashastra Seema Bal. Shukla had also served as the Additional Director General of the CRPF.
Rashmi Shukla has held several key posts in Maharashtra, including serving as Director of the State Intelligence Wing and the Pune police commissioner.
The decision for the appointment of IPS Shukla as the top cop in the state had arrived more than 3 months after the Bombay High Court quashed 2 phone-tapping cases registered against the IPS officer.
