The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has upheld the appointment of IPS Gaurav Yadav as Acting DGP in the state of Punjab.
In July 2022 after the 60 days’ leave taken by the then DGP, VK Bhawra the contentious issue arose. And this was the time during which the Punjab Govt has appointed IPS Yadav as the acting DGP.
Now the CAT has scrapped a petition filed by VK Bhawra, ex-DGP of Punjab, (1987 batch IPS officer). In the petition he has challenged the appointment of year 1992 batch IPS Gaurav Yadav as the acting DGP of Punjab.
