IAS officers will be residing in villages under CM Naidu’s ‘Swarna Gramam’ Initiative.

As part of a new grassroots outreach effort, IAS officers will stay in villages while Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu pushes for improved governance and tighter oversight of outsourced jobs.

CM Naidu has launched the ‘Swarna Gramam’ (Golden Village) initiative, requiring IAS officers to spend three days and two nights in villages to strengthen their connection with local communities. During a recent cabinet meeting, he emphasized that while the government has introduced numerous welfare schemes, their benefits are not reaching the people effectively. He urged ministers to increase awareness about these programs and study central government schemes to secure additional funding for the state.

Naidu also questioned the previous government’s construction projects at Rushikonda, instructing ministers to inspect the buildings before making any decisions. Additionally, he highlighted irregularities in outsourcing under the APCOS system, particularly in TTD, which has 4,000 outsourced employees. To address this, he proposed forming a cabinet sub-committee for better regulation.

Regarding the Pastor Praveen death case, Naidu advised ministers to stay vigilant, emphasizing the importance of CCTV footage in uncovering the truth.
