A 1994 batch IRS officer Anshuman Pattnaik has been appointed as Director General, CCI.
The Indian Revenue Service officer has been entrusted the responsibility by the New Delhi establishment. He will now be holding position of the DG in in the Competition Commission of India (CCI).
The post was vacant after Atul Verma, Himachal Pradesh cadre Indian Police Service officer of 1993 batch completed his second extended term a month ago in November.
The independent investigation arm of the CCI, Director General handles investigations against corporate giants. Recently, many such investigations by the DG, against Big Tech, including Google, Apple and Amazon, have come into light apart from raids in various industries.
