Two senior Telangana IPS officers have been appointed to key positions in Andhra Pradesh.
Visakhapatnam: The Andhra Pradesh government has appointed senior IPS officers Anjani Kumar and Abhilasha Bisht to prominent roles following their formal induction into the AP cadre, after being relieved by the Telangana government in line with directions from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.

Anjani Kumar, a 1990-batch IPS officer, has been designated as the Director General of Prisons and Correctional Services, with his new role effective from February 24, 2025.
-
Abhilasha Bisht, from the 1994 batch, officially joined the Andhra Pradesh cadre on February 26 and has been appointed Chairperson of the AP Road Safety Authority. However, she has availed child care leave shortly after the transfer. Her appointment will take effect once she returns from leave.
These appointments signal Andhra Pradesh’s strategic reshuffling of top police leadership as the state looks to bolster key departments.
