The 1979 batch IPS officer of Bihar cadre, Anil Kumar Sinha has been appointed as Director, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a period of two years from the date of assumption of charge of the post vice Ranjit Sinha, IPS (BH:1974) consequent on completion of his tenure on 02.12.2014.
The selection was done by a three-member committee comprising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Justice of India HL Dattu and leader of the main Opposition party Congress in Lok Sabha that met for selecting the new CBI chief on Tuesday.
