IRS officer Akshay Jain has been granted a repatriation to his parent cadre on personal grounds.
Dr. Akshay Jain, a 2011-batch officer of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS), has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre from his role as Deputy Secretary at the National Health Authority (NHA), under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. The repatriation, approved by the competent authority, has been carried out on personal grounds and includes an extended cooling-off period.
An official order from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), issued on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, formalized the decision, paving the way for Dr. Jain’s return to his parent cadre after his stint at the NHA.
This move underscores the government’s administrative flexibility in addressing personal considerations of officers, while ensuring continued progress in the healthcare sector through stable leadership at the NHA.
