The ECI has transferred two 2009-batch IPS officers. The top cops have been assigned non-election duties.
Names of the two police officers include IPS Kuldeep Chahal and IPS Swapan Sharma. With a notification from the state administration in Punjab the two top cops have been posted as CPs of Ludhiana and Jalandhar, respectively.
On May 22, 2024 the Election Commission of India (ECI) has transferred top cops hailing from Punjab cadre both 2009-batch officers. IPS Swapan Sharma and IPS Kuldeep Chahal is currently serving as Jalandhar commissioners of police and Commissioners of Police (CPs) of Ludhiana respectively, to non-election duties.
