IAS Nidhi Khare has been appointed as Secretary, Consumer Affairs, at the Centre.
Year 1992 batch IAS officer Nidhi Khare belongs to Jharkhand cadre. She is currently serving as the Additional Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs.
Recently through a notification issued by the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (CAA) has mandated IAS Nidhi Singh to assume office as Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India. Khare shall step into the shoes of IAS Rohit Kumar Singh (1989 batch IAS) upon his superannuation.
Bringing a gamut of experiences to her new posting, IAS Khare has served in various roles during her three decades-long stint in the bureaucracy. She has worked as District Collector (DC) of Jamshedpur, Dumka, and Madhubani in Jharkhand and as the Principal Health Secretary, Principal Secretary in the Department of Commercial Taxes.
