Prior to Lok Sabha Elections, the ECI has appointed 39 IAS and 20 IPS officers as Observers.
These officers are going to be deputed in thirty nine Lok Sabha constituencies where elections are to be held on April 19, 2024.
The thirty nine IAS officers deputed by the EC are going to be known as General Observers and the twenty chosen IPS officers will be called Police Observers for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The 39 Lok Sabha constituencies will witness these Poll Observers in order to ascertain fair polling till April 19.
The names of the key officers appointed by the EC include Kartikey Dhanji Budhdhabhatti (Chennai North), D Suresh (Chennai Central), Muddada Ravichandra (Chennai South), Abhishek Chandra (Sriperumbudur), Sunil Kumar (Arakkonam), Bhupendra S. Chaudhary (Kancheepuram), Kiran Kumari and Rupesh Kumar (Vellore).
