Government of India has appointed new Indian ambassadors to Iraq and Chile.
Soumendu Bagchi (IFS: 1993) and Abhilasha Joshi (IFS: 1995), are the two IFS officers chosen for the Embassy of India appointments.
IFS Abhilasha Joshi has been appointed Ambassador to Chile whereas Soumendu Bagchi has been made Ambassador to Iraq. They are expected to take up the assignment shortly.
Year 2003 batch IFS officer Soumendu Bagchi currently was currently serving as DDG, ICWA. Now Bagchi has been posted as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Iraq.
On the other hand year 1995 batch IFS Abhilasha Joshi presently serving as dditional Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, has been posted as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Chile.
