In a recent mandate by the state administration of Uttar Pradesh, ten new CIS officers have been appointed in the state.

The list with the names of the new CIS officers includes Mohd Nadeem, editor of Hindi daily Navbharat Times in Lucknow; Swatantra Prakash, a reporter with a local newspaper; Virendra Pratap Singh, who worked with Hindustan; senior journalist Rajendra Singh; and PN Dwivedi.
The names of the next five officers include former DIG Sudhir Kumar Singh, Shakuntala Gautam, a former IAS officer who retired as labour commissioner; Girijesh Kumar Chaudhary, a retired PCS officer; Rakesh Kumar, a lawyer, Dileep Kumar Agnihotri, associate professor at Vidyant Hindu College Lucknow.
