IAS officers Krishna Kumar and Varun Roojam will be seen in new administrative roles in the state of Punjab.
In a recent directive by the state administration of Bhagvant Singh Mann led government of Punjab, three IAS officers have been transferred with new postings. Among the officers transferred with new assignments are Varun Roojam (IAS:2004:PB), Krishna Kumar (IAS:1997:PB) and Vikas Garg (IAS:1998:PB).
Effecting some minor changes in the state bureaucracy, the Punjab Government has entrusted two IAS officers with additional responsibilities.
Year 1997 batch IAS Krishna Kumar was at present serving as the Principal Secretary, Water Resources with additional responsibility as Principal Secretary, Governance Reforms & Public Grievances, Punjab. Kumar has now been given another additional responsibility as the Financial Commissioner, Forests and Wild Preservation.
On the other hand year 2014 batch IAS Varun Roojam, currently serving as Excise Commissioner, has been given the additional charge of Taxation Commissioner.
