Sixteen Indian Police Services officer are in the race of next UP Director General of Police post.
Ahead of Lok Sabha polss this year, Uttar Pradesh CM has to appoint the next DGP due to the scheduled retirement of the current DGP of the state.
As many as sixteen IPS officers are said to be in the race of the top post. Among them IPS Prashant Kumar (IPS: 1990: UP) and IPS Anand Kumar (IPS: 1988: UP) are the ones who appear to have more chances than the others.
Apart from the two IPS as mentioned above, Mukul Goyal (IPS: 1987: UP), Anand Kumar, Ashish Gupta (IPS: 1989: UP), Safi Ahsan Rizvi (IPS: 1989: UP), Aditya Mishra (IPS: 1989: UP), Sandeep Salunke (IPS: 1990: UP), PV Ram Shastri (IPS: 1989: UP), Daljit Chaudhary (IPS: 1990: UP), BK Maurya (IPS: 1990: UP), Renuka Mishra (IPS: 1990: UP), SN Sabat (IPS: 1990: UP), Tanuja Srivastava (IPS: 1990: UP), Avinash Chandra (IPS: 1990: UP), Subhash Chandra (IPS: 1990: UP) and are some other senior IPS officers in the race for the coveted position.
