The DANICS officers are disappointed due to excessive delays in DPC for Indian Administrative Services officers.
The last DPC meeting was held by UPSC for the DANICS Cadre officers on December 2019 and in January 2020. Then as many as nineteen officers were promoted as IAS. Now it has been 4 years and the cadre is awaiting the next DPC. Approximately 20 accumulated vacancies against sanctioned IAS posts for DANICS based on promotion are awaiting their turn for the last four years.
Due to this, over thirty officers’ career progression has come to a halt. T Phillip (1995), for example, is scheduled to go home next month without receiving his lawful dues in career for promotion to IAS.
The career progression of over thirty officers have come to a halt leaving some of them hopeless. Just like T Phillip, procedural delay in case of Rajkumar (1995), JK Jain (1995) and OP Mishra (1995) have apparently marred their career prospects related to 1995 and successive batches.
On the other hand as per the sources, this may be due to issues like vigilance, APAR deficiency and disciplinary issues of some officers.
