Director General of Police, Himachal moves Supreme Court one more time over HC order.
1989 Batch IPS, Sanjay Kundu has again approached the apex court after the HP High Court rejected his request seeking recall of its order. High Court also directed the state government to move Kundu out of the post of the state DGP.
On December 26, 2023 State High Court asked the government to shift Kundu and along with him Kangra SP, Shalini Agnihotri also from their posts in order to ensure a fair probe into Palampur-based businessman Nishant Sharma’s complaint.
This order was then stayed by the Supreme Court on January 03, 2024. The apex court noted that the HC was set to hear the matter one more time on January 4, 2024. It says that IPS Kundu could approach the high court with an application to seek a recall of the order issued on December 26, 2023. Kundu did petition as per the new order by the SC but the High Court rejected it on January 9, 2024.
