An speculation is rife that Chief Secretary of Maharashtra may soon be given an extension.
Maharashtra’s Chief Secretary, Manoj Saunik may be given an extension of six months.
Saunik hails from Indian Administrative Services officers’ batch of the year 1987. Eight months ago in Aprli Saunik was given the charge of the Chief Secretary of Maharashtra. He then replaced outgoing Chief Secretary Manukumar Srivastava, who was to retire on April 30, 2023.
The then order issued by the government clarified that new Chief Secretary, Saunik will continue with an eight-month tenure since he is to retire in December 2023.
