The department of Water Resources, RD & GR will work under the direction of Dr Raghav Langer, IAS, who has been appointed as the new Director by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
Hailing from Uttarakhand cadre, new Director in Ministry of Jal Shakti, New Delhi, is a 1997 batch Indian Administrative officer.
The ACC chaired by the Hon’ble PM has approved the central deputation of Langer as Director in the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Ministry of Jal Shakti. He will be serving for a two years term.
Along with laying down the policy guidelines, Dr Langer will be responsible for all programs of the development, conservation and management of water as a national resource in the DoWR, RD & GR, Government of India.
