Christopher A Wray, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Director met Sanjay Arora, Police Commissioner of Delhi, at the Police headquarters in the Capital.
The mandate, challenges along with the organizational set up of Delhi Police was briefed to the FBI Director along with the areas of possible mutual cooperation where the two law enforcement agencies can come together.
There was a particular emphasis over enhancing and expediting info exchange on criminal matters along with improving structural coordination in order to combating transnational crimes.
The need to focus on emerging technology-based challenges to law enforcement was recognized. Both agencies showed intent towards closer cooperation in solving transnational cyber-crimes as well as facilitating access to service providers offering encrypted communication applications.
Requirement of sharing information for preventing criminals taking advantage of operating from and / or finding shelter in other countries was also stressed during the meeting.
