The cash-for-query case resulted in Mahua’s expulsion from the Lok Sabha. The Trin Mool Congress MP was facing a probe related to a ‘cash-for-query’ allegation. The allegations were made by another MP from BJP, Nishikant Dubey.
TMC Member of Parliament Mahua Moitra has been expelled from the Parliament now following the recommendation of the Ethics Panel. Accusing the BJP Govt of committing “vendetta politics”, the opposition INDIA bloc questioned Ethics Panel recommendation for expelling Mahua Moitra.
Following the probe a draft report by the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee was submitted last month. The five hundred page report was tabled in the Lok Sabha on Friday, today which recommended Mahua Moitra’s expulsion.
In the Penal report BJP lawmaker Vinod Kumar, head of the team, called for “severe punishment” as well as a government inquiry. In accordance with the allegations, Mahua took cash and other gifts against asking questions in Parliament.
