London: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday night arrived in London for a four-day visit to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) meet. He will have both bilateral as well as multilateral meetings on the sidelines of the CHOGM meet. At the airport, Prime Minister Modi was received by UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson.
“Thanks to our shared history, we have a living bridge between us, and now we want to build on the incredible tech sector where both India and the UK are making giant strides together,” Johnson said in a statement.
On Wednesday, Modi will hold meeting with UK Prime Minister Theresa May at 10 Downing Street where they will be discussing a wide range of issues of mutual interest, including cross-border terrorism, visas and immigration.He will also have an engagement with the Prince of Wales. He will later visit the Science Museum where there is an ongoing exhibition which is the 5000 years of Indian science and innovation. All the contribution made by India in the field of Science will be displayed.
An Ayurvedic Centre of Excellence will also be launched. The All India Institute of Ayurveda will sign an MoU with the College of Medicine in the UK. At the Cric Institute, Prime Minister Modi and his British counterpart Theresa May will be having a series of events at this particular venue.
Prime Minister Modi will also meet Indian scientists who are working on cancer research, malaria and other tropical diseases. The Prime Minister will also address CEOs of both the countries.
