The Supreme Court on Tuesday extended the March 31 deadline for linking Aadhaar with mobile phones, tatkal passports and for opening bank accounts till the Constitution Bench led by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra delivers its judgement on the validity of the Aadhaar scheme. However, the Constitution Bench said this extension will not affect the linking of Aadhaar disbursal of benefits under social welfare schemes.
Earlier on December 15, 2017, the apex court had extended the Aadhaar linking deadline from December 31, 2017 to March 31, 2018.
